A Claddagh is a finger ring that originates from the Irish fishing village of Claddagh near Galway (County Galway). This ring shows two hands holding a heart with a crown. The heart symbolises love, the crown faithfulness and loyalty and the hands friendship and trust.

Since the end of the 20th century, the Claddagh ring has also enjoyed great popularity outside Claddagh and Ireland.

Claddagh is a suburb of Galway in the west of Ireland. However, it was once a small fishing village. A man named Richard Joyce is said to have lived there from around 1660 to 1737.
