Odin
Rune wand Odin, made of wood, hand-carved, length approx. 139 cm, diameter approx. 5 cm.
Extraordinary rune wand with the 24 runes of the older Futhark, with 3 x 8 division of the runes.
Wands are used to focus and direct the powers. They are also used to draw the magic circle. In ritual, the wand represents the element of fire. In some traditions, however, it also represents the element of air.
The runes were the ancient characters of our Germanic ancestors. However, they were used less for writing and more for divination, the oracle. Each individual rune has a multifaceted meaning. The word 'rune' comes from the word 'murmur', which means to whisper a secret to someone. Runes whisper right advice, it was once said. They were carved into beech sticks, where the word "letter" comes from, thrown during a ritual and interpreted.
Runes are divided into the older and the younger Futhark. The word Futhark is derived from the first six runes, which have the phonetic values F U Th A R and K, similar to the Aplhabet, which is also called "ABC" after the first three letters. Each rune has special magical powers.
